History of Thunderheart Studio

Opening its' doors in 1992, Thunderheart Studio has become known as the place to go for high quality photographic images. Intrigued by the world of photography, Jay Morford, began creating images at a young age. Jay continued his love for photography throughout his life becoming a very knowledgeable amateur photographer, and as his career as a banker came to a close his desire to purchase his first professional camera grew. Along with that purchase came "Photography by Jay" a studio that would be operated in the garage in his home in Morgantown, Kentucky. When Jay and his family moved back to Central Kentucky in 1992 he decided to make photography his full time career. He and his wife, Diane, opened Thunderheart Studio in Paris, Kentucky where they spent 18 years developing personal relationships and creating beautiful portraits for their clients. Jay has established himself as an excellent portrait photographer, winning many awards at the state, regional and national levels. Jay has obtained the degree of Photographic Craftsman from the Professional Photographers of America, a highly respected designation requiring a high level of skill and knowledge of photography.

In May 2011, Jay and Diane decided to retire from the photography business and leave Thunderheart Studio in the capable hands of Jennie Keller. Jennie has had a passion for art and photography from a young age and has a special eye for creating beautiful imagery. She studied Art Studio at the University of Kentucky and received a bachelor's degree with an emphasis in photography. Jennie's work has been featured in several exhibitions both domestic and international. At Thunderheart Studio our desire is to go far beyond your expectations in both the creation of your images and in the quality of service throughout your time with us. We want to capture and create relationships with you and your family.
